The project Geothermal Communities started on 1 January 2010 with the management of Geonardo Ltd. in partnership with the Department of  Mineralogy, Geochemistry and Petrology and the city of Morahalom. The project will demonstrate best available technologies in the use of geothermal energy combined with innovative energy-efficiency measures and integration of other renewable energy sources in three different pilot sites (Hungary, Slovakia and Italy)

In Morahalom, as main part of the CONCERTO developments a high-performance heat-pump heating station, on which the buildings of the New Town Centre can be connected through secondary heating circuits (the new Town-Hall and the Thermal Residential Park) will be realised. In Galanta the Concerto activities will focus on the further, more efficient utilization of geothermal energy complemented with the combination of other renewable energy sources to achieve sustainability and expansion of geothermal heating in the town of Galanta and assure sustainable development. In Montieri a highly innovative geothermal district heating system will be implemented by using high-enthalpy fluid to serve as a new, ambitious example for Central-Eastern European countries.
